What Finish Should I Choose?

Pick the right paint
16 June 2025

Not sure which finish is right for your project?

Here’s a simple guide to help you choose the perfect paint for your space.

Wall paint — washable low sheen for everyday spaces (interior only)

Our Wall paint is a go-to for most rooms. It's low sheen, low odour, hard-wearing and easy to clean — ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and even kitchens and bathrooms thanks to its anti-mould properties. It hides imperfections and gives you a smooth, soft finish you'll love living with every day.

Trim paint — semi gloss for doors, windows and furniture (interior and exterior use)

Our Trim paint is extra durable and designed for high-contact surfaces like skirting, doors, cabinetry, and window frames. It has a soft semi-gloss finish that complements our Wall paint perfectly. Use it anywhere you want added durability with a smooth, subtle shine.

Ceiling paint — flat finish for flawless overheads (interior only)

Designed to go on easy with minimal splatter and maximum coverage, our Ceiling paint has a flat finish that hides imperfections and blends beautifully. Most customers choose Plain White (untinted), but you can also match your wall colour in lighter shades for a softer, more modern look.

For a feature ceiling in a darker hue, we recommend using our Wall paint. We also recommend using our Wall paint on ceilings in wet areas due to its extra anti-mould properties.

Exterior paint — low sheen and weather-ready (exterior use—as per the name)

Our Exterior paint is made to stand up to the Australian elements. It’s UV resistant, mould-fighting, and long-lasting — perfect for brick, render, timber and fences.

Our exterior paint is designed to be more flexible to avoid cracking when surfaces expand and contract with temperature changes. For exterior doors and trims, use our Trim paint for a tougher finish.

Prep Plus — the ultimate base coat (interior and exterior)

Prep Plus is our do-it-all primer, sealer and undercoat in one. It's designed to go under any of our finishes—inside or out—and works on a huge range of surfaces including bare plasterboard, brick, MDF, cement sheet, timber, laminate and more.

If you’re doing a cabinet makeover, painting over raw surfaces, or refreshing old walls, Prep Plus is your go-to first coat.

Note: Prep Plus is not a stain blocker—if you're working with water damage or tannin-rich wood, chat to us first for a specialist primer recommendation.

So to wrap it all up...

Our finishes are designed to be simple, low tox, and made for real-life spaces. They're all water-based, low VOC, and vegan. Whether you're refreshing a room or starting a whole home reno, we're here to help you choose the right finish—and feel good doing it.

As always, reach out to the team with any questions or if you need help picking the right paint for you.
