We know it can be tricky to pick a colour based on a digital image and even in person the way we see colours can easily change based on lighting and our surroundings. This is why we have a few options for sampling our range, all of which are easy to use, and 100% colour accurate.
All our sample options are also 100% recyclable and can be delivered right to your door (or collected from our Melbourne warehouse). Making it easier than ever test a colour at home and find the perfect hue for your next project.
Sample Colours with Tint
At Tint we have a few ways to sample paint, so you can find the one that suits each project best!
So what are the sampling options with Tint?
Sample Pouches — The NEW way to sample paint, our handy 100ml pouches are filled with our low sheen Wall paint, enough to cover at least a 50cm2 patch with two coats, so you can get 100% colour and finish confidence. Perfect for touch-ups as well.
Sample Stickers — Avoid the mess with our easy, fun and stress-free large Sample Stickers. Each sticker is 21 x 21 cm and can simply be stuck to your wall. Even better our stickers won’t damage your walls and can be repositioned multiple times, ideal for testing a colour in different spaces.
Sample Cards — Next we offer our handy-dandy Sample Cards. These A5 (19.5 x 14.5 cm) thick paper cards make it easy to compare our colours side-by-side. Made using our actual paint, they are hand painted in our low-sheen Wall paint for 100% colour & finish confidence. Perfect for taking with you and moodboarding.
Sample Card Packs — Our sample packs make it even easier to find the right hue for you. These packs offer a selection of our sample cards grouped by colour. The selections are curated by our colour specialists so you can compare similar options within a colour range and find the perfect shade for your space.
Mini Sample Stickers — Tint’s Mini Sample Stickers are just like our regular Sample Stickers, but smaller! A round sticker with a 20cm diameter, these are a great cheaper option for getting a real life look at a colour you are less sure about. Though if you really want to test how a colour looks in your space we recommend ordering one of the larger sample options mentioned above.
Fandeck — Want all the options at your fingertips? The Tint Fandeck includes all 74 colours from our Season 2 collection. Compact and portable, our Fandeck is the perfect on-the-go colour companion. Each page is 7.4 x 10.5 cm, plus it’s hand-crafted using actual Tint Wall paint, so you can dive headfirst into colour with 100% confidence.
Common Sample FAQs
What is the difference between a Sample Sticker and a Sample Card?
Put simply, a Sample Sticker is a layer of paint on a lightly adhesive backing. It's designed to function as an alternative to a sample pot and be stuck on surfaces all around the house, as well as a colour swatch. A Sample Card is our Wall paint painted onto a piece of paper card and functions best as a colour swatch for comparing colours and moodboarding.
What surfaces can the Sample Stickers be used on?
The Sample Stickers feature a gentle adhesive designed for a long-lasting hold on virtually any surface. When you’ve picked your colour, just peel them off without any marks or damage.
Can I sample a Custom Colour or colour match?
As we mix up custom colours and colour matches uniquely for you, the minimum amount that can be ordered is a one litre can.
Can I recycle your Samples?
Before recycling, consider passing your Samples to a friend in need of some colour love to extend their use! But if it’s truly time to go, due all our paints being water based all our sample options are readily recyclable.
For the stickers specifically these are made of two layers — the colour sticker layer is made from vinyl (PVC) and the backing layer is paper. The backing is recyclable just like any paper product, and the colour layer is easily recyclable in most councils through standard recycling bins. If unsure, contact your council for more information about your local area. If your council doesn’t support vinyl recycling, you can find a recycling centre that accepts vinyl in most states by visiting Vinyl Council Australia.
For Sample Pouches, it's pretty much the same process as stickers, once they are emptied of paint, we like to rinse them out with soapy water and then you can recycle them via your local soft plastics recycling station.
