Spring Refresh realness
Easily update your home and have it in full bloom for Spring
Spring has well and truly sprung.
As we start to update our warmer wardrobes, we’re thinking about how we can refresh our homes to bring the outside in.
One of the most inexpensive ways to refresh your space for each season is with a feature wall. A one litre tin can cover 8m2 with two coats and is only $45 and only $89 for a 4 litre so it is very possible to change up your look regularly.
Create a feature wall
One of the most inexpensive ways to refresh your space for each season is with a feature wall. A one litre tin can cover 8m2 with two coats and is only $45 and only $89 for a 4 litre so it is very possible to change up your look regularly.
High quality bedding can be incredibly expensive to change with the seasons so try doing it with paint instead. Check out the paint calculator if you want to know how much you’ll need.
When picking the wall to feature there’s a few easy ways to do it:

  1. Choose the wall where you want to draw the eye.
  2. Choose the largest, most uninterrupted wall in the room.
  3. Or you can also pick the best wall based on the type of space. In bedrooms the wall behind the bedhead is a great pick, in the lounge the wall behind the TV is a good fit, in a workspace the wall the desk faces and in a toilet the wall behind the toilet is great.
If you have a lot of doors interrupting your feature wall you can choose to paint them in the colour as well just use Trim paint instead of Wall paint. There is always a perfect wall to feature.
Refresh doors and trims
Spring is all about new life and new colour and where better to start than the front door. Adding a pop of colour to your front door is a quick easy way to refresh your home as we prepare to welcome guests again.
There’s no need to be shy because it’s a quick weekend job if you want to change it next year.
When selecting a colour try creating contrast between your door and your house wall colour for maximum pop. Your trim can match your window trim if you need something to separate your wall and door colour or you can make your trim the same colour as your door to make it feel bigger.
For next level street appeal paint your outdoor furniture to match!
Go bold & bright
If you want to let your bold furniture or art choices do the talking you can’t go past a good white and we’ve made white easy without the lemon squeezy undertones.
For a neutral "no throw" white you can’t go past So Fresh and So Clean. If you need added warmth, Old School and C.R.E.A.M. are wonderful and if you need a touch of cool Paper Plane is where it’s at.
There is a huge trend toward homogenising your surfaces and having the same fresh and neutral white on your walls, trims AND ceiling. This is perfect for novice painters as you don’t have to worry as much about edging as the colour is all the same. Just be sure to get the right paint for the right surface. Wall for walls, Trim for doors, windows and skirting and ceiling for ceilings and cornices.
