1. Never skip prep – however tempting it may be

- Clear your space (more room to move and less to cover)
- Lay down drop sheets (it’s much easier than removing drips later)
- Sand down bumps, cracks, and loose paint (a smooth surface = a smooth finish)
- Wipe down walls with a light soapy solution, rinse, and let dry
- Tape up fittings, edges, and corners for clean, sharp lines
