Styling tips for a modern coastal bedroom
Transform your bedroom into a beautiful and serene seaside-inspired space - as part of our Tint x Brosa collab, we’ve put together an easy guide to understanding and creating a coastal inspired bedroom.
You don’t have to wait for the warmer weather to start enjoying beach vibes. Taking inspiration from the seaside is a wonderful guide to creating a coastal look at home. But with so many beautiful colours to choose from it can feel overwhelming where to start. In collaboration with Brosa, Tint Stylist Alexis can show you how to get a seaside vibe at home.
A great way to anchor (pun intended) your coastal look is to pick 5 colours, like a white a deep navy or black, two neutrals and a soft colour to mix and match throughout the house.
A neutral white like So Fresh and So Clean, which is a clear, bright white without any yellow, blue or pink undertones can tie the white back to your walls. Add white sheets or cushions in natural fibres like linen or cotton.
Add depth and texture with natural fibers like jute, rattan and seagrass. Rustic or used timber also goes really well with coastal themes — think driftwood accessories, white washed floors and light oak furnishings.
Another great option is layering blue and green tones throughout your house. Try a feature wall in Puddle or Inner Self for a pop of coastal resort vibes. A feature wall is perfect behind your bedhead, tv unit or dining table to create a frame within the room. Add soft blues into your soft furnishings like bedding, throws, rugs and cushions.
Finally, you can add some touches of black or navy with painted photo frames, Do Not Disturb or Doom is a great option for those. For a cool touch also try grey throws for bed heads like the Arch Bed Head in Stone Grey.
The most important thing about the Coastal look is creating a relaxed environment, so treat it like a day at the beach, minus the sandy feet.
